Gerald Mason asked:

No one can predict the future with any high degree of accuracy, and the farther ahead the seer attempts to look, the less accurate he is likely to be.

Be receptive; good information is where you find it.

Second, you will find that the costliness of information does not necessarily reflect its value.

Much of the best material you will get is free.

Your primary sources of investment informa tion are two: New York Stock Exchange member firms and the companies in which you are interested.

Your brokerage firm will provide accurate, up-to-date material, free for the asking. The increase in the number of new investors has launched many firms on broad-scale informational programs. Most of them have weekly market letters, monthly or quarterly surveys, analyses of individual stocks or industries.

(A recent tabulation shows that some 296 member firms now issue about 30,700 market letters, 15,500 pieces of sales literature, and 1,800 special reports- a stack of paper some 38 feet high and weighing around 975 pounds!)

The weekly letter is usually the work of a senior analyst whose job is to move around and tap professional opinion on current market trends, or to conduct field investigations of new developments in companies or industries. It is conversational, newsy, and necessarily not very exhaustive.

The monthly and quarterly surveys are more thoroughgoing, but the editorial and production time involved in putting them together makes them something less than up-to-the-minute. These usually compare performances, indicate trends, and carry ratings or opinions of various groups of stocks. You can get on the mailing list for these items very easily.

Also join selective internet message services to give you up to the minute information.

On request, your broker will also send you fact sheets on individual companies you may be interested in. These usually cover the basic elements of the company’s financial history: its capitalization, its earnings and dividend records, and the prices at which its stock has sold.

On request, too, you may get rather more elaborate studies of companies or industries, the range depending mostly on the versatility of your brokerage firm’s research department.

Finally, your broker should have booklets on specialized ventures, such as the Monthly Investment Plan, investment clubs, forex or commodity trading .

Corporations are also very much aware of investor interest these days, and most of them are happy to send you annual reports, quarterly statements, stocks prospectuses, or other information, if requested.

These are frequently more ample than your broker can provide; annual reports contain balance sheets, consolidated income statements, and earnings records going back 10 or even 20 years, as well as general factual information on the company’s activities.

It must be remembered that companies are naturally prejudiced in favor of their own business interests, and are inclined to put their best foot forward.

This does not mean that their information cannot be trusted, but simply that an annual report, for instance, which is management’s accounting of its stewardship to stockholders, will put the company in the best light. It is possible that there will be an overenthusiastic view of its performance or prospects.

Secondary sources coming easily to hand, are ordinary newspapers some 600 of which now print daily stock tables and general circulation magazines dealing with business and finance.

These have the virtue of non-involvement with the financial community as such, and possibly a broader perspective on the news. On the other hand, they may lack some of the information readily found in more specialized financial publications.

If you are trading on the forex download some Forex software to help you predict future price movements.

How To Make A Diaper Cake

Kat Magnus asked:

Forex trading is about keeping your losses small and letting your profits run. The problem with most Forex traders is that they hold onto their losses and quickly dump their profits for fear the market will take them back. They have the definitions of hope and fear backwards. They will hold a losing position for days, sweating it out, walking through the valley of in the shadow of death, praying, hoping, promising God and everyone else that will listen to just help them get back to breakeven and once they do, they dump their position after only capturing a few pips. Some traders will go 300 pips in the red to only exit after a brutal ordeal and capture only 2 pips. There is much hidden automated profit potential in the forex trading system. And you need to research to find the best precise automated consistent forex trading system for you.

Learning where to place your protective stop loss orders and creating a trading plan before you trade is of critical importance as a novice trader. Below are some trading tips for novice  forex  traders;

1) Keep your exit strategy simple and never risk more than you are willing to make.

2) Trade using smaller time frames – perhaps 30 minute, 15 minute or 10 minute time frames. Trade a simple forex strategy with a clear entry order accompanied by two exit orders trying to capture profit of perhaps 10 to 20 forex pips. That is $10 to $20 in profit on a mini account and $100 to $200 on a regular account.

3) As a beginner trader, you want to set a goal of trading 7 out of 10 times successfully, making more
money han you lose by trading on smaller time frames, before moving to larger time frames. Your aim should be to establish the habit of winning more than you are losing. After you develop the habit of winning more than losing and realizing that losing is just as much part of this game as winning, you will then be able to move to a larger time frame to capture more pips, perhaps capturing 40 to 80 forex pips at a time, consistently, 7 out of 10 times with some losses.

4) The most important part of this process is forming successful forex trading habits. After you get the simple basics of winning more than losing out of the way, you can start learning more advanced exit strategies

Expert advisors or forex robots complete the above criteria for you and because their robots they are free from the two things which cause so many traders fail, fear and greed. However you have to be careful when choosing an EA which is right for you and does actually deliver on promise. That’s why I’ve had a look at a range of products and have written reviews for your ease of consumption. Take a look at what I discovered here on my review site.

Ultimate Guide To Baby Gender Selection

Tim Rohrer asked:

Percentage in point, price interest point, a pip; whatever you want to call it you must understand it. This is how
money s made in the currency market. New traders in this type of financial market have a lot of studying to do. A shortcut would be to have one of those automated forex trading robots – get the pips.

Glossary of terms:

1. Pip. A pip in forex trading is what traders call the smallest price increment. It is a way to measure the profits and losses in a market that has no set currency. In a way, a pip virtually functions as currency. Because it is hard for beginners to grasp at first, there is what is called a forex pip calculator. After a while it becomes more understandable. It will then be easy to see why it is important to use the system of pips in the forex market.

2. Spread. This is the difference in pips between a chosen currency pair. Keeping an eye on the spread is how
money s made in the forex market.

3. forex robots. The software is designed to get the pips. It does this in a number of ways. 1st it offers a built in tutorial that helps beginners learn the principles of pips and spreads and everything else to understand the workings of the foreign exchange market. Then it can be configured to automatically keep an eye on the movements and perhaps make the trades for you.

This glossary of terms, then, explains how it is possible that automated forex trading robots – get the pips.

Sign Language For Babies And Beyond

Gerald Mason asked:

One of the simplest, most effective, and currently most popular methods of buying stock is the Monthly Investment Plan. The Plan now has more than 93,000 accounts in force, and new ones are being written at the rate of about 180 a day.

Another 111,734 Plans begun in the same period have been completed or terminated. Altogether, MIP investors have bought some 3,674,000 shares of various stocks, with a market value at time of purchase of over $154 million.

The Plan operates on the brilliantly simple basis of reversing the conventional buying procedure. Instead of having the price of the stock desired determine the amount of
money hat must be invested, MIP permits the amount of
money vailable for investment to determine the amount of stock bought. This is a feature highly attractive to new or inexperienced investors, without large sums at their disposal.

Since the Plan encourages regular, periodic investment, it also permits the application of Dollar Cost Averaging, one of the more successful formulas for acquiring stock.

Step by step, here is how it works.

The would-be investor, first of all, may go to a New York Stock Exchange member broker, any of whom may service an MIP account. He tells the broker which stock he would like and how much, on a monthly or quarterly basis, he expects to invest. He may stocks listed on the Exchange, but no securities handled over the counter, or exclusively on other exchanges.

The broker notes this information on a form, together with the name (or names) in which the stock is to be registered, and upon receipt of a first payment, the Plan is in motion.

The form, let it be said, is not a contract, but a routine purchase order. It does not obligate the investor to a series select any of the more than 1,500 common and preferred of instalment payments; it is simply a record of his intention to invest a certain amount at regular intervals, if possible. Its small print merely specifies the normal conditions under which securities are bought and sold, which apply to any stock-exchange transaction. No fees, charges, or interest payments are involved. MIP investors pay only the usual brokerage fees which, for the sake of convenience, are deducted from his payments.

Permissible payments range from as little as $40 every three months to a maximum of $1,000 a month. The usual rate is $40 a month.

Over the years, General Motors has emerged as the favorite MIP stock. It is being bought by some 4,500 Plan investors.

If you should happen to want it, too, what would your monthly $40 buy? As this was being written, GM sold at 48V4. With a commission of approximately 6 per cent deducted, you have $37.74 for investment. This will buy .7781 per cent, or about ¾ of a share.

Right here is the unique element of MIP. It is possible in ordinary stock-exchange dealings to buy an odd lot of as little as one share. It is possible to spend no more than $40 and acquire 10 shares of a stock selling at 3. But in no way except through the MIP can an investor buy fractional shares and accumulate stock costing more per share than he has to invest.

The prime benefit to the investor is that it brings the entire range of Big Board stocks within reach.

While it is not true that higher-priced stocks are necessarily sounder or better values than lower-priced stocks, a great many of the premier issues are to be found at prices above $40.

It also seems to be true that even if a person accumulates, say, $180, by putting aside $40 a month for nearly five months, he does not rush into the market to buy one share of American Telephone & Telegraph. Although it may be an illusion, $180 in the savings bank seems like more wealth than a mere one

share of stock-even AT&T. Furthermore, in five months’ time, the accumulation may be needed elsewhere, or A T & T may have reached 200-both eventualities discouraging to the eager investor.

You also have more safety in the forex , if you have a pool of money and only invest a small part of it 1-2% per trade.

With this method you would need to make a bad trade more than 50 times is succession before you lost all of your
money br/>
To limit your losses and increase your gains it is best to use some forex software.

Pick Your Babys Gender

Margaret Tye asked:

Many people who want to trade on the Forex market are nervous to try because they don’t fully understand pips but realise that making a mistake in their calculations could cost a considerable amount of money.

trading on the forex market is similar to buying stocks and shares except that instead of paying a broker’s commission there is a difference in the selling and buying price of currency and this spread, measured in pips, must be taken into account when calculating profit or loss.

A pip is the smallest unit of price when trading a currency. Most currencies, apart from the Japanese yen, are trading to 4 decimal points, 0.0001. Although this may seem a small amount, with a standard lot of 100.000 units of the base currency, a market movement of several pips up or down can equal significant profit or loss. The Japanese yen is traded to 2 decimal points.

Although a wide fluctuation in the price of a currency can result in huge losses or gains, and is a tremendous gamble for the small investor, many Forex brokers offer mini forex accounts where it is possible to start trading currencies with a few hundred dollars.

When you buy a currency you are also be selling another. You are betting that the currency you are buying will increase in value, but the currency must first increase by the spread difference just to break even, therefore it is important to get the lowest spread you can find, while always dealing with a reputable broker. The more active the two currencies you are dealing in, the smaller the spread between the buying and selling price is likely to be, it can be as low as 2-3 pips. The spread difference is something you need to clarify with the broker that you are dealing with to make sure that the spread on offer does not fluctuate according to market circumstances.

Many Forex brokers offer dummy trading platforms to allow you to practise trading . A dummy trading platform and the real market are two very different experiences. trading on the forex market is a high risk investment and more people lose

Gerald Mason asked:

An important question for all investors is: Can I afford to invest?

America always has been a land of promise. Whatever the course of our economy in the years immediately ahead, it is likely that opportunities for investment will be both numerous and attractive. Energetic new companies will emerge, looking for venture capital. Solid old companies will come forth with exciting new products. One industry or another will enjoy a boom period relative to the rest. And, of course, there will be casualties, too. There inevitably are.

For the observant investor this activity, properly evaluated and properly timed, will bring rewards. There will be chances to buy stocks before they have called attention to themselves and begun to rise, or to buy a Blue Chip, temporarily out of favor, at a depressed price. There will be stock splits, dividend increases, new issues, mergers, spin-offs, as well as the tidal rise and fall of stock prices all of this characteristic of the restless life of the market as a reflection of American business.

If you have never invested before, you are bound to be tempted.

Whether or not you yield will depend on your answer to the first hard question about investing: Can you afford it?

It is a lonely question and only you can answer it, for it involves not only how much
money ou feel able to invest, but what kind of person you are. Actually, it is several questions wrapped into one. You are asking, first, whether your financial condition permits you to invest; second, whether you can assume the risk implicit in stock investment; and, third, whether the market is a safe place for you to be.

Let’s take them one at a time.

Your Financial Position: One point should be made clear at the outset: you don’t have to be wealthy to invest. Among outsiders you can hear it said that stock ownership is a rich man’s game. This can mean any of several things: that the market is too complicated for the little man, that brokers aren’t interested in small orders, that only the person who can lose a bundle without feeling it should invest. However persuasive these arguments, they are all untrue.

The fact is-according to a recent New York Stock Exchange Survey-that almost half of all shareowners are in the $5,000-$10,000 a year income bracket. The median income of the 3,860,000 people who have become stockholders since 1956 is $6,900.

This would seem to suggest that an understanding of market operations is not too difficult to acquire, and that an attentive, interested broker is not too hard to find. It can also be assumed that these are shareowners with a fair appreciation of the value of a dollar and in no position to laugh off losses.

The goals a small investor can hope to achieve and the pattern of investment possible within the limits of a modest income will be outlined further on. The conclusion to be reached here is that investment is not a matter of enlarging a fortune you already possess, but of making available some
money however small the amount, to start with.

Regardless of your salary or income level, investment is possible if three conditions can be met:

1. If you are assured of a steady income.

2. If you are meeting your current running expenses and obligations.

3. If you have a cash reserve with which to meet unforeseen emergencies.

These conditions are, first of all, safeguards made necessary by the inescapable fact that stock prices fluctuate. Your judgment of when to buy, when to sell, and how long to hold should never be dictated by outside circumstances. Investment should be undertaken only with funds you can honestly and legitimately earmark as extra. With a regular income and your monthly bills paid, you know where you

stand and what amount can be put aside, in reserve, for any investment opportunity that arises. Or, of course, for emergencies. A sudden demand for ready cash-to pay a hospital bill, an insurance premium, or your income tax-should come, if possible, from your reserve, not from cashing in your investments. Whether your stocks are up or down, you are likely to take a loss-on the downswing because you may be selling at less than you paid, on the upswing because you may be selling at less than the potential.

A reserve also enables you to pick and choose. The fact that you have a few hundred dollars lying idle does not automatically mean the time is ripe to buy stocks. There’s no hurry. As the professionals say, “The market is always there.” If the trend of the market isn’t to your liking, or the price of a stock is higher than you want to pay, a reserve allows you the luxury of waiting for a more favorable situation.

Finally, a reserve permits investment over a period of time rather than all at once. As you learn more about the market, you will hear both sides of this argument. Some experts feel you should back what seems to be a good situation with all the investment funds at your command. Others will warn against getting greedy, and advise partial investment here and there, at different times, to spread the risk. This is not the place to discuss the merits of these techniques. The point is to give yourself the flexibility of moving either way your judgment dictates.

Remember: your income need not be large, so long as it is regular and enables you to put aside a surplus after you have taken care of your bills and the possibility of trouble. The surplus need not be large, either. Saving, as has been said many times, is a matter of regularity. No one considers $5 too small an amount to put into a savings bank; don’t worry if that’s all you can save each week for your accumulating investment reserve. In most markets, brokers usually can suggest a number of sound, solid stocks, offering liberal yields, that sell for less than $20 per share.

There is no rule about the number of shares an investor must buy. If you can afford a single share (plus commissions), a broker will get it for you. As a matter of fact, through the Monthly Investment Plan you can buy a fraction of a share, although the Plan requires a minimum investment every month.

To invest in the Forex, you will probably need a float of around $400 and invest from $1 to $10 per pip to start with, then reinvest your profits.

So there is a much smaller outlay required to invest in Forex, although it is more speculative.

Good Forex software will help to reduce the risks involved.

Sign Language For Babies And Beyond

Gerald Mason asked:

Whether you are investing in shares or Forex your main gains will be capital appreciation: The investor in this category is not interested in dividends but in seeing the market price of his stock increase or one currency improving against another.

There are three advantages to this kind of operation. First, if your judgment has been good, you make more money faster than by relying on dividends. For example, the man who buys 100 shares at $30 and sells even at a 10-point profit has $1,000 (less commissions) to show for his year’s work. This represents nearly seven years’ worth of dividends from the $30 stock yielding a conventional 5 per cent.

Secondly, if you hold your investment for more than six months, your profit is considered a long-term capital gain, taxable at a maximum 25 per cent rate for many people, a saving over straight-income rates.

Finally, if your stock doesn’t go up as anticipated, there is always the chance that it will at least be a decent income-producer.

This is something of a rationalization, of course. There is no use pretending to be in the capital-appreciation business if a little mess of dividends is all you have to show for your efforts. The more consistent course is to drop the non-producing stock (losses, if any, are tax deductible) and shop around for a winner. This, to be sure, takes guts. There’s nothing like a couple of growth stocks that don’t grow to take the steam out of a capital-appreciation man

On the other hand, the gloriously rising market since World War II has simplified the task of discovering and getting aboard a company with promising prospects. And, as noted, an investor could wait five years for his 10-point gain and still be ahead of the plugger piling up dividends.

Capital appreciation, it should be noted, is an omnibus term covering any change or advance in a company’s position which might be reflected in the market price. It may mean the emergence of a new company in a new industry, the coming of age of a speculative youngster of a decade or two ago, or even new evidence of vitality in an

established veteran.

Recently for instance, the stock of Ampex, Inc., a bright little California company manufacturing top notch equipment for the booming tape-recorder industry, has more than doubled in value.

Dozens of small companies dealing in electronics, precision equipment, and other fruits of current scientific research (Tracerlab, National Research, Beckman Instruments, etc.) are similarly attracting attention and consequent jumps in price.

Somewhat more established and riding crests of speculative interest are such stocks as General Dynamics, builder of atomic submarines and Convair airplanes; Owens-Corning Fiberglas, manufacturer of insulation, filters and textiles, and glass fiber boats, and Bendix Aviation, no infant, but investing heavily in diversification and new-product development. Dow and Minnesota Mining might also be grouped here, although possibly by now they should be included among the older companies Corning Glass, Goodrich, Union Carbide, Westinghouse, National Lead, Minneapolis Honeywell, Eastman Kodak-whose youthful spirit and astonishing technological resources have kept them in the forefront of American industry for years.

All of these examples would qualify as growth stocks, as the kind of investment that would tempt the investor seeking capital appreciation.

But appreciation can also follow from subtle and complicated changes in a company’s structure. In these cases, appreciation may have nothing to do with a new product or even with the company’s prospects within its industry. Rather it is the anticipated result of a merger, a spin-off (distribution of assets), a reorganization, or any one of a number of procedures available to the complex institution known as a corporation.

Talk of a merger between Bethlehem Steel and Youngstown Sheet & Tube made both stocks interesting possibilities. U.S. Foil “B” (American Stock Exchange), representing about 48 per cent control of Reynolds Aluminum; duPont, which is having to divest itself of 63 million shares of General Motors stock; Northern Pacific Railway, which has important oil interests in the booming Williston Basin of North Dakota; El Paso Natural Gas, which has formed a subsidiary, Rare Metals Corp., for uranium exploration and processing; and many others are examples of stocks with potential capital-gains features.

It is not possible to say exactly how or if the gains will be realized. Mergers require an adjustment of the stock prices of the participants which may benefit one or the other; or public interest in the prospects of the combined company may cause the stock to spurt.

An as yet undeveloped asset, such as Northern Pacific’s oil, or Inland Steel’s Steep Rock iron interest in Ontario, might mean an eventual bonanza which would be reflected in stock prices or a capital distribution of cash or stock. Several years back, Andes Copper, an Anaconda subsidiary operating in Chile, made a capital distribution of $6 per share at a time when the stock’s market price was hovering between $12 and $15.

Most gains on Forex are capital gains, where the currency trader is hoping for an increase in the value of one currency against another. Profits can be spectacular, but it is worth

having good Forex software to prevent large losses.

How To Make A Diaper Cake

Gerald Mason asked:

An in-depth knowledge of macroeconomics or international trade isn’t necessary to tra de the forex . But knowing how these forces affect currency pairs can only make you a more savvy trader. Here are a few highlights.

When a country raises its interest rates, often their stock market will go down as investors move their funds to greener financial pastures. This tends to weaken the internal economy of the country, but strengthens it in relation to other countries. Which effect will have the most impact on that nation’s currency pairs is often discussed well in advance by the “talking heads,” and each forex trader has to decide for herself who to believe!

Crude oil

Canada is an oil-producing nation. Exporting crude oil raises their GNP and improves the balance of trade, strengthening their economy.

As the price of crude oil goes up, the USD/CAD goes down. (That’s because the Canadian dollar, the cross currency, has appreciated against the base currency, the U.S. dollar.) At this point, the Canadian dollar is almost at parity with the U.S. dollar, a situation not seen since the 1950s.

As an interesting exercise, try laying the chart of the USD/CAD over the chart of crude oil prices for the same time period. The two charts are almost a flipped image of each other.

Japan, on the other hand, is an oil-consuming nation, strongly industrial but with no real energy reserves of their own. Importing crude oil at increasingly higher rates to power their economy raises the cost of production and slows or reverses their economic growth.

The change in the USD/JPY has not been as dramatic as that in the USD/CAD, and the correlation between the charts not as impressive, but that’s because the cost of crude oil has affected the USD half of the equation as well as the JPY side.

Precious metals

During troubled political or economic times, investors tend to move their capital from speculative investments to something more conservative and solid. Precious metals, particularly gold, tend to go up in value at these times. When the situation returns to normal, gold tends to decline as investors seek higher returns from their money.

The Swiss franc, like gold, is considered a safe harbor for capital. As the U.S. dollar has depreciated (mainly due to the government deficit, a large trade deficit, and low interest rates when much of the rest of the world is raising theirs), investors have moved much of their capital to these harbors. Therefore, as the price of gold rises, so does the franc in relation to the dollar.

Like the Canadian dollar discussed above, the USD/CHF (Swissie) has declined because of the pressure of the cross currency against the base. Again, lay a chart of the USD/CHF over one for gold with the same time interval, and see how one reflects the other like trees in a lake.

Australia is a major gold and copper producer. Copper is not only a precious metal, it’s also a substantial element in the housing market (copper plumbing, wiring, etc.). As demand for copper rises on both fronts, the Australian dollar climbs against the U.S. dollar. This is also a reflection of high Australian interest rates versus the low ones in the United States.

The Baby Sleep Solution Audio Program

Jason Fielder asked:

As a new Forex trader, one of the most important things you will need to learn is how to figure out the value of a pip for any currency pair. A pip is the smallest measure of value in a currency pair in forex , so it’s critical that you understand this concept.

When someone is saying “30 pips,” they’re talking about thirty units of value in a trade. Both profits and losses are measured in pi ps, though a pip for USD/JPY is not the same value as a pip for USD/CAD.

The simplest way to put it is this: one pip is one unit of the smallest measured decimal place. For example, if you are trading USD/JPY at 114.95, then one pip is .01 Yen, since that is the smallest decimal place of measurement used in this pair. The JPY is measured in two decimal spaces, although almost all other currencies are measured in four decimal places.

This does vary, which is why you always want to check on each individual currency to figure out what the pips actually are. For example, if the USD/CAD is trading at 1.0621 CAD than a pip for this transaction is .0001 CAD.

If you trade AUD/USD while it’s at 1.2433, then one pip for this trade is .0001 since that combination has four decimal places, as well. See how that works? Like many parts of forex trading , it is pretty easy once you get used to it.

So if the USD/JPY is quoted to only two decimal places, so Yen .01 is the value of this pip. If this pair goes from 114.95 to 115.00, it gained 5 pips. Likewise, if the USD/CAD goes from 1.0621 to 1.0611, it lost 10 pips. That simple math is all that’s needed at that point. So if USD/JPY went from 88.25 to 88.29 that would be a 4 pip increase.

On the other hand, if it went from 88.25 to 87.90, that would be a 35 pip loss. The math might seem a little daunting at first, but it really is just ordinary math an easy enough to pick up on.

As a side note: many non-Yen currencies are figured out four places, making many pips involving USD in the currency pair .0001, but just remember that a pip is one unit of the furthest listed decimal point and you’ll do fine. This also means that for each currency pair the pip can be a different value. You will want to keep track of this.

How To Make A Diaper Cake
